ITDocs-to-Go! was created to fill a void in the process of creating web-based applications. That void is the documentation of requirements, business, creative and technical documentation that must be created in order for any project to fulfill its mission. Gone are the days of sitting down and just hacking a site. While that mentality worked in the early 90s, that is no longer a part of the recipe for successful web site development. Successful web design and development requires many more skills today than it did then. One of those skills is the creation of documentation that provides a blueprint for the process of development.

Documentation is an idea we brought from the traditional information technology (IT) arena. While not all ideas from IT were directly transferable, the need for documentation as a key ingredient of a successful project was. It is clear to us, after years of large-scale web application development, that documentation is not fun to do. In fact, the major reason that it doesn’t get done well is because it is hard. It is one thing to go through the discovery process with your client to sort out what the requirements are. It is quite another to write them down in a way that is not only useful but can also provide the blueprint for the applications creation.

That is the idea behind ITDocs-to-Go!
